artifacts
artifacts are known by the clans as remnants of the past that give them possible evidence of cats who were alive and how they lived. these artifacts are often depictions of famous or infamous cats, etched into bark or trees, or painted with berries and mud onto bark or flat stones.
sunclan treasures information regarding former warriors, and they like to understand how their ancestors lived, and they're always on the hunt to find more depictions of sunstar. most artifacts are in possession of the leader, and are passed down from leader to deputy. because of this, most artifacts are wearable, but other artifacts like drawings are secured in tree cavities, usually placed their by the medicine cat. it is usually the medicine cat's job to keep track of where these artifacts are, but most warriors have access to them if they are curious to see.

fawn skull helmet
this wearable is a helmet constructed by sunclan cats out of the skull of a deer fawn and easily bendable , thin willow branches. this item is traditionally worn by the leader of sunclan atop the head.
though this idea conjures up an adorable image of a stern looking cat wearing a clumsily crafted helmet, to sunclanners this helmet is a symbol of very high status, and gives a more threatening appearance to the leader. this is because deer are considered very strong beasts by sunclan, and can easily kill cats. though nature is respected by sunclanners, the cats look on at this skull with awe because it seems unimaginable that a cat could take down a deer, and so whoever wears it is gifted with that threatening appearance.
generally, it is a symbol of power and strength.
this skull was actually simply found by a medicine cat many years ago, but sunclanners like to show it off to others as if they took down a deer themselves.
