site rules
1. be civili ask that we all be civil to each other and try to treat each other with respect and with tolerance. making sure this is a no hate zone is important, so that everyone can have fun and roleplay without trouble.
2. approach admin with concerns
approaching me with your concerns is very important, as it helps avoid future conflict and tension and helps solve our problems fast and make our forum a better place. i like to know all the concerns my fellow members have so that i can do my best to ease these concerns and solve problems. please don't be scared to address any worries you have about the forum with me, and if you find you're too anxious to do so, you can always ask a fellow member to talk to me for you. i'll completely understand, and you'll have my deepest respects for approaching me maturely to help solve these problems. know that i will always do my very best to be as polite and kind and welcoming as i can whenever i am speaking with any of my fellow members, and i never wish to come off as intimidating ever!
3. requesting the annex of a rule
this is pretty much the golden rule of forest fires: this platform is a democracy. it's so democracy here that even the democracy rule can be changed if there are enough supporters.
when requesting the annex(addition) of a rule, please follow these steps to make things go as smooth as possible. know that there wont be severe consequences for not following these steps, but that when you follow these steps it makes this easier for me.
.step one
dm me letting me know that you will be requesting the annex of a new rule. please try to give a brief summary of the rule in your message.
.step two
create a poll in the rules board. label it appropriately and describe what rule you're trying to add. please think out all the loop holes, limits, and implications of this rule as best you can. then post, and await the responses!
if your poll is supported or not supported and there is a difference of four votes in either favor, your rule will either be discarded or annexed depending on what your fellow members have decided on. if the votes are too close, you will be asked to relabel the title of your poll as "undetermined rule poll" and will be asked to wait two full weeks. when these two weeks are up(keep in mind you can spend this time trying to gather more supporters for your rule), you will be welcomed to make a new poll again describing your rule, and the votes will be taken again. this process will continue until there is a decision made on whether to add or discard your rule.
4. requesting the removal of a rule
this is pretty much the golden rule of forest fires: this platform is a democracy. it's so democracy here that even the democracy rule can be changed if there are enough supporters.
when requesting the removal of a rule, please follow these steps to make things go as smooth as possible. know that there wont be severe consequences for not following these steps, but that when you follow these steps it makes this easier for me.
.step one
dm me letting me know that you will be requesting the removal of a new rule. please clearly state which rule you want to be removed, and why you think it should be removed.
.step two
create a poll in the rules board. label it appropriately and clearly state which rule you are requesting the removal of and why you think it should be removed. please try to think out all the limits and implications that will be created by the removal of this rule as best you can. then post, and await the responses!
if your poll is supported or not supported and there is a difference of four votes in either favor, the rule you want removed will either be removed and left alone depending on what your fellow members have decided on. if the votes are too close, you will be asked to relabel the title of your poll as "undetermined rule poll" and will be asked to wait two full weeks. when these two weeks are up(keep in mind you can spend this time trying to gather more supporters), you will be welcomed to make a new poll again describing what rule you want removed and why, and the votes will be taken again. this process will continue until there is a decision made on whether to remove or leave the rule in question.
5. character limits
on forest fires, you are allowed to make one character from scratch when you first join. if you wish to make a second, you must reach 50 posts with this first character before you can make you can make another character from scratch. after your second character, you must reach 100 posts with that character before making another from scratch, and so on. the number of posts will not be raised or lowered after your second character however, it will stay at 100 posts for each character in order to make another.
one way around the character limit is to adopt. in the above, i said 'from scratch' a lot, this means if you make a character all on your own with your own resources. you can adopt as many characters from other people as you want, there is no limit or post requirement to pick up some adoptables.
